The Filipino American Student Association at the University of Michigan celebrates Filipino culture and identity, and brings you closer to the Filipino community in Ann Arbor.
FASA makes you feel at home.
Come meet and greet some all of us at FASA. We'll have some food, good weather, and a nice view at The Arb.
Wear a costume, and come eat up something sweet. We'll be preparing these awesome Filipino desserts while laugh at how we're all dressed.
Come celebrate Filipino culture with good food, good friends, a lot of dancing and entertainment. We'll have a bunch of impressive performances by the FASA dance group, and we'll have a few speakers as well. Come join the biggest FASA event of the year!
Gina is the 2012-2013 President of the Filipino American Student Association. Originally from Los Angeles, she misses the glowing warmth of her home state, but doesn't mind the Michigan snow one bit. She's currently a junior in LSA, pursuing a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Asian/Pacific Islander American Studies. In her free time, she likes to read, workout, and watch Grey's Anatomy.
Jared is currently a junior majoring in neuroscience and am also pre-pharmacy. As the vice president of FASA, he deals mainly with logistics and assisting everyone else when needed. He loves sleeping, video games, and good food, and all of those at the same time (except for fish, or he'll die). He's also had trouble trying to watch another TV show after finishing LOST in 9 days.
Kyle Lee is the treasurer for FASA. He's a sophomore pre-med student studying biomedical engineering with a biochemical concentration. He's also a member of PhiDE, an international medical fraternity. His job requires hardly any clothing but a great deal of folding clothes. Also, he's a big Game of Thrones fan. (Michigan) Winter is coming.
Whattup playa. Raphael is a junior majoring in chemistry (to one day Break Bad). He's from Grand Rapids, and he was born straight out the womb as a fighter. If he didn't respect Pacquiao as much as he did, there'd be TWO Filipino Furys in the boxing world. Despite this, he loves baby squirrels.
Lester is a Junior studying towards a Neuroscience Major. One day, he wants to go into medicine. He likes listening to most music and he loves watching movies. Get him a couch and a TV hooked up to Netflix, and he'll be there. He likes to play Ultimate Frisbee in his spare time.
Chris Paclibar is a sophomore in pre-pharmacy and majoring in neuroscience. She's the co-social chair for FASA. Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, she's originally from Davao City, having lived her childhood years in the Philippines. She's got enough sass to keep us in a surplus.
Tia Faraon is a co-cultural chair for FASA. She's a sophomore and is planning on majoring in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. As a peer advisor for the Health Science Scholars Program and an actor for University of Michigan’s Educational Theatre Company, Tia has her hands all over the comings and goings of campus. In spectacular fashion, she represented FASA in the Ms. APA pageant and won the title of Ms. APA 2012.
Andrea Guytingco is one of the Co-Cultural Chairs for FASA. She's a pre-med sophomore from Mt. Pleasant, MI, and she loves to cook up some awesome baked goods (with Filipino flags on them!)
Rhogelyn is a Neuroscience/Pre-Med kid who serves as FASA's service chair. She's responsible for organizing FASA community service and fundraising activities. Fun fact: she's a huge movie fanatic. Ice cream is your friend. Protein shakes are delicious.
Allen is FASA's external chair for the 2012-2013 school year. He's currently a junior at the University of Michigan majoring in economics. Aside from FASA, Allen is also involved in the Theta Xi fraternity. He wandered over here from Northville, Michigan, and has lived in Michigan his whole life. You'll often find him at the CCRB a lot, usually playing basketball during his free time.
Nate is a senior in Movement Science, who love to cook, rap, dance, and play basketball. Needless to say, Nate is a man of all seasons. Last year he was in the American Medical Student Association Social Chair. His choreo song choice this semester: Workout by J. Cole.
Ryan is our resident designer/programmer/photographer, and all around handy man. He chisels out advertisements and pretty things to attract new members to FASA constantly, while working on web tools that we all use. He's a southern boy studyin' Computer Science.
